こんにちは!Welcome to our page on Japanese games and game systems. On this page, we are writing on both Japanese game system history and current gaming systems such as the Super Nintendo, Playstation 3, and Wii. We will also go over the production of extremely popular games and their trilogy’s such as Final Fantasy, Street Fighter and the ever so popular, Mario. Obviously there are many more games and game systems that exist, but we're going over a few popular games and game systems we've noticed.

HistoryGaming in Japan started up after the release of Pong in the year of 1971. After witnessing Pong's success, many video game companies jumped into the video game industry thus creating a wide range of games and gaming systems. Several years later, the video game manufacturers were in a race to create the best graphics and fastest consoles. As Atari continued to make new games, Nintendo came up with the Famicom in America, soon renamed the NES (Nintendo Entertainment System). The NES was released with Super Mario Bros in 1986. After the successful release of the NES, Sega decided to make consoles in Japan and America. Sega released the Genesis, then the Saturn some years later. Despite these releases, Sega couldn't top Nintendo's success, then they stuck to making games only. Other companies such as Tonka and 3DO came up with new consoles but had very limited success. In 1991, Nintendo dominated the market again by the result of releasing the Super Famicom (SNES in America). Then in 1995, the Japanese company Sony jumped into the industry by releasing the Playstation. It was quite successful in both Japan and America as it had strong sales and strong games as well. From the Playstation's release up to today, some consoles and handheld game systems have been released which is considered "Next Generation" gaming technology.

Next Generation Gaming
As gaming has progressed so much since its origins, it has brought us into a new age of games and consoles, also known as "Next Gen Gaming". Today's three major consoles are the Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360, and the Playstation 3 (PS3). As these consoles already support advanced graphics and gameplay, the manufacturers are further improving and innovating more and more technology. There are also handheld gaming devices, devices such as the Playstation Portable (PSP) and the Nintendo DS. Other projects are also in the making such as Microsoft's "Project Natal", a motion sensing device for the Xbox 360 which senses all body movement and implements it into the game.
